Important information

Dear landlords,
You have been using our accommodation portal for many years now, and we would like to thank all the advertisers providing accommodation for the UNIL-EPFL student community. This service is greatly appreciated by the university community and we are happy to be able to offer this service to our students.

In 2020, more than 2,000 announcements were published and 53% of these were room announcements. Unfortunately, for the same year, we noticed that the average room rate reached CHF 775.-. This rate has been increasing for several years, unlike the average budget for students at our two schools.

Based on this observation, we found it useful to review certain criteria for moderating room announcements in order to include pricing considerations.

Thus, we reserve the right to refuse announcements of rooms whose rent is considered too high. To do this, we evaluate each object based on the following:

  • The size of the room (m2)
  • The location of the property in relation to the UNIL-EPFL campus (or to the EPFL branches)
  • Furniture included or not
  • Access to a private bathroom or not
  • Other services that may be included (Internet, cleaning, meals, etc.) or not
These criteria are evaluated by our services at the time of moderation and only concern announcements for rooms and not for apartments. If you have any doubts about the rents you can offer or have any questions, our services are of course at your disposal.

We thank you for your trust and for your understanding.
